Care & Storage of Your Jewellery

Here are some tips to keep your jewellery looking its best for years to come:
Over time your jewellery will develop a patina, especially when exposed to humidity and heat. To avoid tarnish and oxidation, we recommend storing your jewellery in the box you were provided, or an air-tight container making sure your jewellery is completely dry when storing.
Apply beauty products such as perfume, hair spray, cleansers and deodorant before putting on your jewellery and allow to dry, the chemicals present in these can all cause jewellery to tarnish. This is especially important for gold vermeil jewellery.
Take jewellery off when showering, swimming, exercising and washing your hands, perspiration, soaps and chlorine can all tarnish your jewellery

GOLD VERMEIL
We plate sterling silver jewellery with a high micron 18ct gold plating. Gold plating is a surface layer and will wear over time. Earrings and necklaces tend to get less wear than rings. We offer an affordable re-plating service to our customers. Please get in touch if you require a re-plate – shipping and labour will be charged. Do not use silver polishing cloths on gold plating as they are embedded with an abrasive chemical, use a dry soft cloth and buff very gentle if needed.
RECYCLED STERLING SILVER & GOLD
To keep your gold jewellery looking polished and fresh we recommend occasionally polishing it with a microfibre cloth
Silver is a metal that will naturally tarnish and oxidise over time, This can usually be brought back to life with a silver polishing cloth.
